The Client

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) help businesses rise to the opportunities and challenges that globalisation offers. They work with UK-based businesses to ensure their success in international markets and aid businesses by creating strategy plans that enable them to export successfully.

The Objective

UKTI looked to an external agency who could offer support to their existing marketing frameworks and Meridian were commissioned to work alongside them in all aspects of marketing activity such as; marketing planning and analysis, advertising and event management and population. The objective was to fully understand the operations of UKTI so that we could act as an extension of their organisation.

The Approach

To fully understand UKTI as well as their target market and existing marketing activity, we set about dedicating a professional team who would not only work with UKTI but who would also represent them when dealing with third parties.

Regular visits to UKTI offices were implemented in the first instance in order to gain a full understanding of their internal activity. During this time Meridian worked alongside senior UKTI personnel as well as partner operations who they collaborate closely with. This ensured we were able to acquire as much information as possible on all internal and external activity.

After gathering a strong understanding of the history and then the requirements moving forward, we were able to construct both a marketing review of previous activity and a marketing plan of future activity, which gave UKTI scope for future developments.

The Result

Meridian is now in the process of implementing a number of marketing strategies that were outlined in the developed marketing plan and we continue to work alongside them on a day to day basis acting as a support arm to their team. Not only do we offer marketing support but Meridian also are assisting with full event management and we are currently planning their annual ‘Exporters Dinner’ which is due to be held in July 2009.

The ability to provide additional support to that of our core service, telemarketing, demonstrates our flexibility and experience in implementing and managing, full marketing campaigns for our clients.
